I'm having a hard time trying to locate the specs of Option 10 for the RSA3408B spectrum analyzer. If anyone has a link or a PDF to share, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Jay,

The specifications of the measurements possible with Option 10 should match the specifications of the hardware, there's no need for a separate spec for that option.

If you have a certain measurement spec that you need I can give you some more specific help in finding/calculating it.

Hello,

So I'm curious if the THD measurement is restricted to only the audio spectrum (30Hz to 20kHz), or does it apply to the full spec of the analyzer? (DC to 8GHz)

Thanks!

Jay

The THD measurement can be made on audio signals - either directly (baseband), or as demodulated from an AM or FM modulated carrier.  The measurement can be performed on audio frequencies from 20Hz to 100kHz.

The THD measurement in baseband mode does work in the whole frequency range, although it's of really no use past 20 Mhz signals as any harmonic would be out of the captured bandwidth.
Additionally, the low-pass and high-pass filters available for measurement configuration are intended for audio frequencies up to 80 kHz and down to 50 Hz.

So yes, the option 10 audio measurements are usable in baseband mode beyond the audio range, but their usefulness may be limited by the acquisition system.
