Hi Hamed,

If you wish to reduce noise on your signal then you can enable averaging or high-res acquisition mode.

I will say that what I see from your image doesn't look like noise, it looks like ringing at the top of the rising edge, which is there for a reason and should not be ignored.

Hi Hamed,

We do not have an "MSO series", the MSO terminology is used in several different series. Instead I'd ask for the full model number of your machine.

If you have an MSO2/4/5/6, then you can go into your vertical channel menu and set the bandwidth limit as you desired, which applies a DSP low-pass filter to your channel input.
If you have the user defined filter option enabled, then you can also use that to generate more complex filters with the desired properties.
The P5122 maintains isolation, but the maximum input capacitance of the THS710 (27 pF) is out of the maximum compensation range of P5122 (22 pF), so you might not be able to compensate it properly.

If isolation isn't a requirement (meaning the scope and probe aren't floated), then the P5100A and P6015A should work with the THS710.

Hi,

The SCPI commands for querying and setting the channel grouping are still undocumented. I have reached out to our product line team to fix this.

In the meanwhile, I have had success with
MAINWINDOW:SOURCEORDER
, but it's not perfect and I wouldn't recommend you use it yet.

Hi,

What you need is a TekProbe to TekVPI adapter: https://www.tek.com/en/sitewide-content/datasheets/t/p/a/tpa-bnc

Hi,

Adding sleeps is not the correct way to handle timeouts. VISA timeout errors should be caught and handled by the program; this usually means repeating the operation a few times and, if it still fails, exiting with an error.
Additionally, it's also important to use "*ESR?" to check for errors and "*OPC?" for synchronization.

I have attached an example Python3 script for getting a curve query from an MSO4/5/6, but it will likely work (perhaps with some modifications) for your MDO4000B.

Hi Stan,

I believe this was already answered in one of the TekScopes group, but I will answer here for others to see:

The non-letter MDO4000 does not have DVM and frequency counter capabilities, so registering them does not unlock that option.

For scopes that do feature that capability, you will receive an email with the license key after registering the instrument.

Hi Birjit,

I would ask how you're communicating with the instrument (USB, Ethernet, etc) and how you're handling VISA timeout errors?
It's normal to have timeouts, especially during the transfer of long waveforms or files, so it's important that your code handles these properly. It might be useful to post the relevant code.

Hi Gary,

4-SRENET is for Ethernet triggering and analysis (aka decoding), not compliance testing.
Our compliance testing package is a part of TekExpress, which is a Windows based application and so requires an oscilloscope running Windows. The MSO4 is not capable of running Windows, you will need an MSO5 or higher to use TekExpress.

Please contact your account manager if you wish to return the instrument.

Hi,

We no longer sell a rack mount kit for the AFG1000.
